Sun Wed	5/9- 10/20	Main Street Station Farmers' Market Located at the bustling commuter intersection at Main and Terminal, this market will replace our current market located at Riley Park Community Centre. Access by bus and SkyTrain is exceptional at this central location. The market vendors will line up on the east side of Thornton Park on the sidewalk along Station Street. There is ample room for pedestrians to walk along the sidewalk or detour into the park if they wish. You can expect to find a great selection of vendors at this market - everything from produce, meat and cheese, baking and more!

Each week you will find a diverse mix of vendors, kids crafts, local entertainment, and strong involvement by community groups who provide education to the public on local programs and services. Merritt Speedway features a lighted 3/8 mile dirt top oval surface track popular with stock car and funny car enthusiasts. Our club maintains a clean site with secure lighted bleachers that can sit up to 300 spectators. There is ample parking and a play area for the youngsters all setup in a nice safe rural area.

It's a chance to mingle with the locals, buy fresh produce, local honey & homemade goodies & get a sampling of the fine arts & crafts available in the Valley.
Fri Fri	6/11- 10/8	Two Rivers Farmers' Market A small, but festive, farmers' market. 4th street, in Lytton, is blocked off to vehicle traffic, and the market is set up. There is a wide range of fruits, vegetables, poultry and assorted goods available. The selection varies each week, depending on what is seasonally available. There is usually one or two musicians performing. Lytton is recorded to be the hottest place in Canada, but the market is on a shaded street, with multiple tents.

Volunteers are welcome, however when come to the station please be quite whille in the lab as this is were we band the birds as well we recommend no dogs however if you do bring one ou there please keep it on a leash as we have nets throughout the area. Sun Thu	8/1- 9/30	Music at the Cannery 2010 Music at the Cannery is a new music series at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site of Canada. Music at the Cannery is open to all ages. Admission is by donation. Jun 28th: Bluegrass quartet Rhythm Roundup kicks off the series. Jul 12th: Fraser Union performs distinctly Canadian tunes. July 26th: Pancho & Sal promise a fun evening of toe-tapping rhythms. Aug 9th: Western Canadian bluegrass champion Steve Alexander plays his favourite tunes. Aug 23rd: Tim Readman performs folk songs with a dose of humour. Aug 30th: Shanna Lynn performs songs from her debut CD.
Thu Thu	9/2- 9/16	Mountain Bike Toonie Rides Toonie Rides are a great way to have fun, explore the trails, get some exercise and socialize with the coolest club in Whistler. Organized by WORCA, Whistler's Off Road Cycling Association, the rides take place on a different course each week and end with a complimentary après sponsored by a local Whistler business. Riders must be WORCA members and rides are open to all abilities. Every Thursday until September 16, 5:30 pm sign-in.
Sat Sat	9/11- 9/18	Merritt Star Quest Fall Star Quest Enthusiastic Astronomers, the avid campers that they are, would visit the Merritt area occasionally, & yet they noticed something special about the Night Skies in this part of BC. They came to the realization that the Merritt area, with its Dark Night Skies, would be an extremely advantageous situation to take advantage of. So they set the ball in motion & a newly formed Astronomical society came into being. Astronomers, from all over the country, their campers\or tents, set their equipment up & enjoy a few nights star gazing under those deep dark skies of Merritt BC.
Sat Sun	9/11- 9/12	Bull Riders Final Adrenaline & excitement...a true test of nerve! The format for the championship has the 20 top bull riders, riding two bulls per day for both days. There is a daily winner & an overall champion based on their combined scores for both days. Also featured will be the West Coast Thunder Drill Team, a wild horse race & a ladies jackpot barrel race complete with a Saturday night BBQ & western wingding. Concession area & refreshment garden on site. This is truly a must attend weekend!

Sun	9/12	Kootenay Country Fair The Kootenay Country Fair is a full day at Fort Steele Heritage Town including contests, an auction & many exhibits such as baked goods, produce & cut flowers, preserves & needlework. There will be a best scarecrow contest as well as a best decorated bike contest. Fort Steele's regular displays & shops will all be open & the Steam Train will be running from 10:00 am-4:00 pm. This will be the last day for the Fort Steele Market. It will be a very fun day from 8:30 am in the morning until 4:30 pm.
Sun	9/12	Hills Garlic Festival This year's theme for the Hills Garlic Festival is Homemade - Homegrown - Organic & the event will feature 150 vendors. It's a great event with live entertainment & children's entertainment all day, contests & vendors showcasing organic garlic from around the world, garlic wreaths, products & snacks, local crafts, jewellery, wood, flutes, pottery, textiles, rocks, soaps, lotions, herbal remedies, local hot sauce & great food.
