Mackenzie Nature Obsevatory operates a fall migration monitoring bird banding station at Mugaha March 14 km north of Mackenzie. Volunteers are welcome, however when come to the station please be quite whille in the lab as this is were we band the birds as well we recommend no dogs however if you do bring one ou there please keep it on a leash as we have nets throughout the area. Music at the Cannery is a new music series at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site of Canada. Music at the Cannery is open to all ages. Admission is by donation. Jun 28th: Bluegrass quartet Rhythm Roundup kicks off the series. Jul 12th: Fraser Union performs distinctly Canadian tunes. July 26th: Pancho & Sal promise a fun evening of toe-tapping rhythms. Aug 9th: Western Canadian bluegrass champion Steve Alexander plays his favourite tunes. Aug 23rd: Tim Readman performs folk songs with a dose of humour. Aug 30th: Shanna Lynn performs songs from her debut CD.

Mountain Bike Toonie Rides
Toonie Rides are a great way to have fun, explore the trails, get some exercise and socialize with the coolest club in Whistler. Enthusiastic Astronomers, the avid campers that they are, would visit the Merritt area occasionally, & yet they noticed something special about the Night Skies in this part of BC. They came to the realization that the Merritt area, with its Dark Night Skies, would be an extremely advantageous situation to take advantage of. So they set the ball in motion & a newly formed Astronomical society came into being. Astronomers, from all over the country, their campers\or tents, set their equipment up & enjoy a few nights star gazing under those deep dark skies of Merritt BC.

Bull Riders Final
Adrenaline & excitement...a true test of nerve! The format for the championship has the 20 top bull riders, riding two bulls per day for both days. There is a daily winner & an overall champion based on their combined scores for both days.
